GETTING STARTED

  • If you notice concerns with your child’s speech, language, social communication, or literacy development, it may be helpful to consider an evaluation. Some common signs include:

    • Trouble pronouncing words or being understood

    • Difficulty using words or forming sentences

    • Difficulty understanding or following directions

    • Challenges with social communication, such as taking turns in conversation

    • Difficulties with reading or writing skills

    If you’re unsure whether your child may benefit from support, we offer a free 15-minute consultation. This gives you an opportunity to ask questions and share your concerns so we can help determine whether an evaluation may be appropriate.

    We’re here to help you understand your options and determine the best next step for your child.

  • We work with children and adolescents from birth through age 18, along with their families.

  • After you submit an inquiry, we’ll reach out to learn a little more about your child and what you’re looking for. We’ll then schedule a free 15-minute consultation to discuss your concerns, answer questions, and determine whether Wonder Wings may be a good fit for your family.

    If you decide to move forward, we’ll guide you through the next steps, which may include completing intake paperwork and scheduling an evaluation or other appropriate service.

  • During your child’s evaluation, we’ll carefully assess their communication skills using a combination of observation, specialized assessments, and discussion with you about your concerns. The goal is to develop a thorough understanding of your child’s strengths, needs, and overall communication profile so we can provide appropriate recommendations for next steps.

    After the evaluation, you’ll receive a detailed report outlining the findings and our recommendations.

SERVICES AND THERAPY

  • Wonder Wings supports a variety of pediatric speech, language, and communication needs, including:

    • Speech sounds and overall intelligibility

    • Receptive and expressive language

    • Social communication

    • Early communication development

    • Literacy and written language skills

    • Other communication concerns that may affect participation in everyday life

    Because every child’s needs are different, services are individualized based on their strengths, concerns, and goals.

  • Therapy at Wonder Wings is individualized, child-centered, and designed with everyday communication in mind. Sessions are tailored to your child’s strengths, interests, needs, and goals while targeting skills that can make a meaningful difference beyond the therapy session.

    We also value collaboration with families and others involved in your child’s care so that, when appropriate, strategies and progress can carry into everyday routines and environments.

  • Therapy frequency is individualized based on your child’s needs, goals, and the recommendations made following an evaluation. We’ll discuss the recommended frequency with you so you understand what is being recommended and why.

  • The length of therapy varies depending on your child’s individual needs, goals, and progress. Every child develops at their own pace, so there is no set timeline that applies to everyone.

    We regularly monitor progress and adjust goals and recommendations as needed to make sure therapy continues to be appropriate and meaningful.

  • Absolutely! We encourage family involvement throughout the therapy process. Collaboration between our team and your family helps us better understand what matters in your child’s everyday life and can support progress beyond the therapy session.

    We may also provide practical strategies and ideas that you can use at home when appropriate.

  • Yes! Virtual therapy is available for families throughout Florida and can provide a convenient, engaging way to receive services from home.

    Telehealth can work very well for many children, but it may not be the best fit for every child or every therapy need. We’ll consider your child’s individual needs and goals when determining whether virtual or in-person services are most appropriate.

  • Not currently, but we hope to in the future. We are continuing to build our expertise in this area because we want to ensure that any service offered through Wonder Wings meets the same standard of high-quality care as our other services.

    If you’re looking for feeding therapy now, feel free to reach out. We may be able to help connect you with another provider in the area or keep your information for future feeding services.

PAYMENT AND INSURANCE

  • Yes! We are in-network with select insurance plans (see below). Coverage, benefits, visit limits, and other requirements may vary based on your specific plan. We can help you verify your benefits and understand the coverage information provided by your insurance plan before beginning services.

    If we are not in-network with your insurance plan, you may choose to receive services as a private-pay client. In this case, you would pay for services at the time of service, and we can provide a superbill upon request for you to submit to your insurance company for potential reimbursement.

    Please note: We cannot guarantee insurance coverage or reimbursement, as these are determined by your specific insurance plan.

  • We offer several payment options, including private pay, select insurance plans, HSA/FSA payment cards, and the Step Up for Students scholarship.

    We’re happy to help you understand the payment options available for your family. If you have questions about insurance, Step Up, HSA/FSA funds, or private pay, please don’t hesitate to reach out.

  • Yes! Wonder Wings accepts the Step Up for Students, Unique Abilities scholarship for eligible speech and language services.

    Families using scholarship funds will complete the required documentation as part of the intake process. We’re happy to answer questions about using Step Up with our services and help make the process as straightforward as possible.

  • Possibly. If Wonder Wings is not in-network with your insurance plan, you may still have out-of-network benefits that provide partial reimbursement for eligible services.

    You would pay Wonder Wings privately for services, and we can provide a superbill for you to submit to your insurance company for possible reimbursement. Reimbursement amounts and requirements vary by plan, so we recommend confirming your out-of-network benefits directly with your insurance company.

    Please note: Providing a superbill does not guarantee reimbursement.

LOCATION AND SERVICE AREA

  • Wonder Wings is a mobile and virtual pediatric speech therapy practice based in Apopka, FL. We do not currently operate from a traditional clinic location, which allows us to provide services in everyday environments throughout our mobile service area.

  • Mobile speech and language services may be provided in your home, your child’s school or daycare, or another appropriate setting within our service area.

    Virtual speech therapy is also available for families throughout Florida when telehealth is an appropriate fit for the child’s needs.
